Vehicle Recalls
It's our goal to serve drivers from Pittsfield, North Adams, Great Barrington, MA & Bennington, VT with the safest, most
reliable vehicles out there-that's why we choose to represent the
Subaru
lineup. Of course, that also means that when something like
a recall comes along, we want to make sure we inform our customers and make
sure those who need repairs are able to get them quickly and easily.
Recalls tend to affect a large selection of the
automotive sector, as with the Takata Airbag Recall, which remains the largest
recall in automotive history, affecting vehicles all across the industry. If
you're concerned that your vehicle may have been affected by this or any other
recall, take a moment to run your VIN through the tool on this page to see if
you should get in contact with us about scheduling an appointment to make
repairs-free of charge, of course!
Explaining the Recall Process
While every recall should be taken seriously, it's important to know that most vehicle recalls are preventative measures, which means that there's nothing wrong with your vehicle, and the recall is to ensure that nothing goes wrong with your car. A recall means that there's a defect or issue that has been identified and replicated within vehicles like yours or containing a specific part yours contains. We mention this to allay any fears you might have about what a recall means for you and your vehicle, but we don't want to dissuade anyone from following through on recall repairs!
So, What's Involved if My Vehicle is Part of a Recall?
In addition to running your VIN through the tool above to see if you're included in a recall, you'll also receive a Recall Repair Notice. Due to scarcity of parts, vehicles are being served in the order that they're recalled, so you do need to wait for your recall notice before getting any repairs done. With your repair notice in hand, any authorized Subaru dealership like us here at Haddad Subaru?will be able to perform your repair, free of charge to you! You will need to schedule an appointment, but that's really all you have to do on your end of things.
Remember, a recall isn't the end of the world, but it's an important matter that needs to be taken seriously. If you have any questions about the process of recalls or you need to schedule an appointment to get some recall repairs performed, please don't hesitate to reach out to us at (888) 679-7112.
