You may have heard about the massive Takata airbag recall effecting millions of vehicles across nearly two dozen motor vehicle brands, including some Subaru vehicles. Here is what you need to know about the issue; which Subaru makes and models are affected, and what to do if your vehicle is on the list.

The Issue
The inflator and propellant devices may deploy incorrectly during a crash.

  • 2003 - 2014 Subaru Legacy
  • 2003 - 2014 Subaru Outback
  • 2003 - 2006 Subaru Baja
  • 2004 - 2011 Subaru Impreza
  • 2006 - 2014 Subaru Tribeca
  • 2009 - 2013 Subaru Forester
  • 2012 - 2014 Subaru WRX
  • 2012 - 2014 Subaru WRX STI
Uh oh: you own a vehicle on that list. Now what? 
Don't panic just yet; there is one more thing you need to do, and that's run your VIN. You can do this online or you can call us and we will be more than happy to assist.

To run your VIN online, you'll need (you guessed it) your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN). This is located 
  • in the bottom corner of the windshield on the driver's side of the vehicle
  • inside the doorjamb of your driver's side door or
  • on your vehicle's registration document
Once you have it, visit safecar.gov and enter your VIN to determine if there is, or isn't, a recall on your vehicle.
