Earth Day in the Berkshires

Happy 42nd Earth Day month! April 22nd has been designated as Earth Day and the Berkshires have had a long tradition of activities, celebrations, and other various exciting events to learn about our Earth and protect our environment all month long. In the past two years, the 40th and 41st Earth Days, April was filled with documentaries, shows and films, recycling, textiles/clothing, and cleanup drives, lectures and presentation, and live nature tours and guided walks! So what is on the docket for April 2012?
For the kids: on Friday, April 20th at 2 p.m., North Adams Public Library Youth Services Department will hold an Earth Day Celebration for ages 8 and older. Listen to stories and participate in an earth-friendly activity in celebration of Mother Earth.

The above events are just a small portion of what is going on for Earth Day in Berkshire County! Of course, you could just celebrate on your own by taking a walk, picking up trash off the road, or maybe just enjoying nature through a drive on a Berkshire back road (best done in a Subaru of course). Subaru is vested in protecting the Earth and pursuing sustainable practices.  They are committed to maintaining high efficiency mpg with all of their models. In addition, Subaru's manufacturing plant in Indiana runs on a zero landfill policy and has won awards from the EPA for three years in a row. So enjoy Earth Day - and enjoy your Subaru!
