A September to Remember at Haddad Subaru - Mercedes H
September is a month that holds a special place in the hearts of everyone at Haddad Subaru. It’s not only Cancer Awareness Month, but also a time when we come together to support an incredible local charity that’s very close to our hearts: Strong Little Souls. Throughout the month, $25 from every vehicle purchase was set aside to be donated to this amazing organization. By the end of September, our team proudly raised $2,500. But the generosity didn’t stop there, Dan Proskin, President of BBE Office Interiors, generously matched our donation, bringing the total to an incredible $5,000. This year, Strong Little Souls chose to honor a remarkable young man named Alex and his family with the donation. Back in late 2019, Alex was diagnosed with an extremely rare form of thyroid cancer called Hurthle Cell Carcinoma. At just 12 years old, he became the youngest known person ever diagnosed with this type of cancer. Alex endured two major surgeries to remove both sides of his thyroid, along with countless hospital stays and procedures. Today, we are overjoyed to share that Alex is in remission. Now 17 years old and a senior at Taconic High School, Alex is exploring his college options and looking forward to the next exciting chapter of his life. Recently, however, Alex and his family faced another unexpected challenge — their vehicle suddenly stopped working, and the repairs were more expensive than replacing it. Reliable transportation was essential for Alex’s regular medical appointments in Boston, and his mom even had to rent a car just to get him there. When Haddad Subaru heard their story, we knew we had to help. We proudly donated the $5,000 raised to help the family secure a dependable vehicle — and thanks to the kindness of our community, an additional $1,700 was donated after their story was shared. For us, September isn’t just a month, it’s a reminder of the power of compassion, community, and hope. At Haddad Subaru, we’re honored to stand beside Strong Little Souls and families like Alex’s who embody incredible courage and strength. To Alex and your family, we hope you enjoy your new set of wheels. Congratulations on your upcoming graduation and your remission. You truly are a strong little soul, and we are so proud to be part of your journey.
Haddad Subaru’s Family Fun Day: Giving Back to Strong Little Souls - Mercedes H
For the past three years, Haddad Subaru has been proud to support Strong Little Souls, a charity dedicated to helping pediatric cancer patients and their families. Each year, we host a Family Fun Day to give these incredible children and their loved ones a chance to relax, laugh, and create joyful memories together. This day means so much to us, it's our way of giving back to families who face unimaginable challenges with courage and grace. Our team came together once again to make it all happen, with volunteers from every department lending a hand. Company President George Haddad and Sheri Haddad helped coordinate every detail, from the beautiful venue and delicious food to the always-popular pontoon boat rides. This year, 26 families affected by pediatric cancer joined us, more than 85 people in total. Our volunteers worked hard to make sure every guest felt comfortable and cared for throughout the day. Across the venue, activity tables were set up with crafts, games, and plenty of tasty treats. At the tie-dye station, kids and volunteers teamed up to design colorful, one-of-a-kind shirts. The rock painting table buzzed with creativity and laughter as the children swapped paint colors, shared ideas, and even gifted some of their artwork to volunteers. When it was time to eat, everyone gathered to enjoy an incredible spread provided by The Roasted Garlic, Zucchini’s, and Mario’s. Refreshing drinks and creative mocktails were served by Higher Bar, and dessert came courtesy of Krispy Cones, because what’s a summer day without ice cream? Entertainment was everywhere! BTC Entertainment brought glitter tattoos, Bowey the Clown wowed the crowd with balloon creations and magic tricks, and Carr Hardware added extra excitement with a bouncy house. The fun continued as RSI kept the music going and filled the air with bubbles from their foam machine—one of the biggest hits of the day. Plushy Pals also joined in, helping kids make their own stuffed animals to take home as keepsakes. Autumn Phoenix Photography was there to capture all the heartfelt moments—the smiles, the laughter, and the joy that filled the day. By the end of the event, Haddad Subaru raised $10,750 for Strong Little Souls. But beyond the number, what truly mattered was the happiness and connection shared by everyone there. It was a day filled with laughter, love, and community, a reminder of how powerful kindness can be. Watching our staff bond with these brave children, sharing smiles and stories, left us all inspired to continue giving back.

More than just a Forester - JUSTIN C
In March Mr. Smith had made his way down to his local Haddad Subaru in search for a new vehicle. As Mr. Smith met with me; he had spoken about why he was in the market for a new Forester. Mr. Smith's previous Forester was totaled; he had not just been in one but two accidents only two weeks apart. He had been driving on the Massachusetts Turnpike and had been hit, finally causing the vehicle to be totaled. Working as a Sales Consultant you meet a lot of people. One of my favorite parts of the job is getting to know them. As I spoke more to Mr. Smith, I saw he wore a hat labeled "U.S. Army Veteran" and thanked him for his service. Mr. Smith served in the United States Army and was drafted in 1966. As we spoke more, he opened up about his current situation. Mr. Smith was a retired veteran who lived in a local apartment in Pittsfield MA for 10 years. Suddenly he had to leave the place he had called home for the past decade unexpectedly leaving him with nowhere to go. Mr. Smith had been staying in a Motel for the time being and was running low on money. He had been provided with a rental but needed to return it in a week. The insurance company he worked with had an unexpected wait releasing the funds to his account. Ultimately delaying his process in getting into a new Forester and leaving him with no vehicle. Although we couldn’t get him into a vehicle as soon as I hoped, I could help connect him with local resources. We sat down together and contacted Soldier On: a local nonprofit organization committed to ending veteran homelessness. I left a message explaining Mr. Smiths' current situation and my phone number to help them connect. Later on, that evening the gentleman that worked at Soldier On came to Subaru and met with me, I pointed him to Mr. Smiths' location of stay and he immediately started his process in providing him a place to stay and search for housing for him. I had kept in contact with Mr. Smith and helped him throughout the frustrating situation he was in but throughout it all he held his head high. A month in a half later Mr. Smith made his way back into his local Haddad Subaru. Finally, after two months of waiting for his funds to go through from insurance and now being connected with solider on allowed him to save some money to get into a new vehicle. Mr. Smith purchased a Subaru Forester; he has been a supporter and an owner of the Subaru brand for years. Mr. Smith left that day with a smile and gratitude beyond measure, making my job all the more worth it! Not only did he leave in a Subaru, but he also left with a place to stay through soldier on, and a possible apartment opportunity located for him. Mr. Smith and his local Subaru sales consultant Mercedes were able to take a situation that was far beyond the auto industry and made it a plan into advocation to make sure he was not only back on the road, but back on his feet. It was a reminder that sometimes, selling a car is about so much more than transportation, it's about connection, compassion, and community.
A Heartwarming Celebration of Community, Compassion, and Commitment: The 2024 Subaru Love Promise in - JUSTIN C
On Saturday, October 26th, the Berkshire Humane Society, in partnership with longtime sponsor Haddad Subaru, hosted its annual "Choose Your Subaru" raffle event. The day exemplified the Subaru Love Promise, creating a powerful connection between the retailer, the community, and the causes closest to their hearts. The event began with a sense of purpose and care as a free rabies and microchip clinic, sponsored by the ASPCA and Subaru of New England, provided essential services to local pets. A remarkable total of 44 rabies vaccines and 25 microchips were administered to cats and dogs, reinforcing Subaru’s dedication to the health and well-being of our furry companions. The spirit of celebration continued with a heartfelt 1.2-mile "Woof Walk," led by Executive Director John Perreault, commemorating his 40 years of tireless dedication to animal welfare. As participants returned, the crowd was treated to engaging demonstrations and games from the Family Dog School instructors, highlighting the joy and enrichment pets bring to our lives. “No event throughout the year exemplifies the Subaru love promise as much as the “Choose your Subaru” raffle. Subarus and dogs go together like Subarus and All-Wheel drive, it truly is a lifestyle. My favorite part of the day was the doggie costume contest; seeing the smiles on the dog owners' faces is what this event is all about. What a memorable day!” Shane Rose, Service Manager At 1 p.m., the excitement peaked as the live raffle drawing revealed Mariday Geyer of Hancock as the grand prize winner of the Subaru raffle. Mariday, who purchased her ticket at the shelter while donating pet food to the organization’s food bank, exemplified the community spirit that defines this event. The day concluded with even more smiles and wagging tails, as a second-chance raffle and a delightful doggie costume contest showcased some of the cutest dressed pups in the community. Each participant added to the event’s infectious joy and camaraderie. “I love to see how many people show up to enjoy this event. I believe it’s a great chance for our local community to come together and support each other. I loved getting the chance to check out local vendors including Charlies Bistro who served phenomenal food and refreshments provided by Jeremy with Higher Bar. The costume competition is always a big hit and its quite amusing the see the dogs all dressed up.” Ally Curley, Sales manager. The success of this event is a testament to the power of collective effort and generosity. With over 2,100 raffle tickets sold, the funds raised will directly support the shelter’s critical programs for homeless pets. From local businesses to individuals who attended, donated, or volunteered, the outpouring of support created an atmosphere of profound gratefulness and thankfulness. Special recognition goes to the Berkshire Humane Society, Subaru of New England, the ASPCA and the local businesses and event donors whose contributions ensured the day’s success. Together, they exemplify Subaru’s commitment to pets, community, and the shared goal of making the world a better place. I think Justin Casey, General Sales Manager put it perfectly “As I reflect on this extraordinary day, we are reminded of the incredible impact of partnerships and shared passions that overflowed throughout today. The Berkshire Humane Society and Haddad Subaru look forward to continuing this legacy of love and support for many years to come.” Thank you to everyone who made this day unforgettable. Your kindness and dedication inspire us to keep making a difference, one paw and one heart at a time.
Strong Little Souls Hosts Family Fun Day for Pediatric Cancer Families with Haddad Subaru - chris k
Strong Little Souls Hosts Family Fun Day for Pediatric Cancer Families with Support from Haddad Subaru On August 10th, 2024, Strong Little Souls, a nonprofit based in Pittsfield, Massachusetts, held its second Family Fun Day at Tribute Farm in Cheshire. The event, designed to bring joy and connection to families affected by pediatric cancer, was a huge success, thanks to the support of Haddad Subaru and numerous community partners. The event, which ran from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m., saw over 50 attendees, families directly impacted by pediatric cancer—gather for a day of fun, food, and togetherness. Madison Quinn, the founder of Strong Little Souls, was thrilled with the turnout and expressed her gratitude for the community's involvement. "It was more of a success than we could’ve imagined," Quinn said, highlighting how special it was to see the families come together and enjoy themselves in a supportive environment. Haddad Subaru played a pivotal role in making the event a reality. The team not only provided volunteers but also secured various resources, including the Ozzie’s food truck, Carr Hardware’s bounce house, Tie Die t-shirt making station, Face Painting, Boey the Clown, DJ Farrell for music, and lots of fun snacks. Haddad Subaru also helped pass out many gifts and books that Madison has acquired throughout her constant efforts with donors. The Haddad Subaru volunteers went above and beyond by decorating the venue, assisting with set-up and clean-up, and creating activities for the families. One of the highlights of the event was the "fun tent," which featured arts and crafts activities like rock painting, cornhole, and two piñatas filled with goodies. Every child went home with a specially curated goodie bag from the Subaru team. Madison Quinn, who founded Strong Little Souls at the age of 13 in 2014, expressed her heartfelt thanks to everyone who contributed to the event's success. "As a small organization, events like this are not possible without the support of the community," she said. "We can’t wait to partner with this incredible Haddad Subaru team again to continue to support our local families affected by pediatric cancer!" The event was a testament to the power of community involvement and the difference it can make in the lives of families facing unimaginable challenges. With families already asking about future events, Strong Little Souls looks forward to continuing its mission to support families affected by pediatric cancer, and its partnership with Haddad Subaru promises to be an ongoing success. Haddad committed to Disney on ice trip, Christmas tree wreath fundraiser, and the entire month of September “Childhood Cancer Awareness Month”. Haddad Subaru’s service manager, Shane Rose said “This organization is personal to me because my niece has experienced a childhood battle and enjoyed the work of Madison and Strong Little Souls. She is making a tie die shirt right now!”. “The yearlong commitment to Madison and Strong Little Souls is made easy by just seeing the smiles on these kid’s faces today. I love to work with a community driven cause that does not get enough support from our government. We will fill that void where we can! The humble conversations with my two daughters who helped during this event will forever stick with me. We all could use to be more grateful and help where we can.” Chris Kramek, the general manager of Haddad Subaru. Haddad Subaru President, George Haddad and team were able to deliver a massive check curated from the Share the Love event that runs through December and donates $300 per vehicle sold during that time. Strong Little Souls received a check for $19,000 on this amazing and beautiful day.
$1.5M raised for Make-A-Wish Massachusetts and Rhode Island - Peg W
Over the past 13 years, Make-A-Wish has been both honored and grateful to partner with our Subaru of New England Retailers as one of the four national charity partners of the Share the Love campaign. We are thrilled to share that following this year’s results, the combined support of our local Massachusetts and Rhode Island retailers has just surpassed $1.5 Million for Make-A-Wish Massachusetts and Rhode Island! It is proven that wishes can have a positive impact on the medical outcomes of children facing critical illnesses. A wish experience can improve a child’s quality of life and emotional well-being, while also strengthening families. A wish enables a child to imagine a future that is bright and provides motivation and hope when they need it most. The transformative impact of a wish cannot be overstated, and we depend on the generosity of partners like you to move closer to our vision of granting the wish of every eligible child in Massachusetts and Rhode Island. Your support benefits not only a local child and family, but their community as well, reminding every one of us that we are capable of uplifting one another. Thank you, Haddad Subaru, for your compassionate partnership in bringing hope and joy to local kids with critical illnesses.
Haddad Subaru brings music, food and joy to “Feed our Neighbors” Event - Beth M
When the call was heard that our very own Christian Center food program in the Berkshires needed the community’s help to raise money, awareness, and support for the pantry, they reached out to Subaru with an unusual request. In past months, Subaru had hosted a highly successful coat drive at the Christian Center, where many Subaru team members volunteered. One of these dedicated volunteers was Marketing Director Beth Maturevich, who Pat from the Christian Center knew was also from the popular band Whiskey City. Pat, brimming with enthusiasm, didn’t hesitate to ask if Whiskey City could donate their time and talents to support the event. Beth agreed wholeheartedly, and when she mentioned this to Chris Kramek, General Manager and Vice President of Haddad Subaru, he immediately saw an opportunity to further help. Chris didn’t just offer several employees to volunteer; he also arranged for cornhole games and giveaways to enhance the appeal of the already fantastic event. Plus, Haddad Subaru generously donated $500. Chris immediately suggested, “Let’s start a food drive and fill a Subie full of non-perishable items.” He rallied his team, and soon they had a Subaru hatchback filled with canned goods, ready for the event aptly named "Feed Our Neighbors." The event was an afternoon filled with delectable delights, lively music, and a spirit of community, all coming together to support a noble cause. Beth, reflecting on the experience, shared, “I have said it before, and I will say it again: working with Chris Kramek and for Haddad Subaru has been such an honor due to the amount of generosity he and his team provide for our community. Being asked by someone in need to use my band to help out is one thing…but bringing it to Chris’s attention and always having him be the first one to say, ‘What else can we do? How else can we help?’ is extraordinary. He and the Subaru team always go above and beyond every single time.” The event's success was not only measured in donations and participation but also in the heartfelt connections made. Chef Chris Bonnivier remarked, "This event truly embodies the spirit of community and compassion. It's heartening to witness so many local businesses, individuals, the band, and Haddad Subaru stepping up together to support our neighbors in need. Together, we can make a meaningful difference in the lives of those facing food insecurity." Through the Subaru Love Promise, Haddad Subaru demonstrated that their commitment to community goes beyond business—it's about creating lasting impacts and fostering a spirit of togetherness. The "Feed Our Neighbors" event was a testament to what can be achieved when we all come together with open hearts and a shared purpose.
Did Haddad Subaru go above and beyond, provide exceptional service, or support causes that are important to you? We'd love to hear about it.
